Did The Take Away Auto Tune On The Voice

The Voice I doubt there's much beyond some slight pitch correction tools like you'd find in a TC Helicon mic mechanic (which I'd hate to break it to you, pretty much everyone even the most noble of artists use live, and I don't blame them considering how awful it is to try and sing on pitch live where monitors and acoustics make it pretty much impossible). Learn more about Auto-Tune, the music industry standard for pitch correction and vocal effects. Auto-Tune Pro, Auto-Tune Artist, Auto-Tune EFX+, Auto-Tune Access, Harmony Engine, Mic Mod and more. Click the “Input Type” button to select the voice effect for the track. The voice effect setting will change how high or low the pitch of the song is. If you are using Autotune EFX, the setting will be labeled “Voice Type.” The 3 vocal settings are soprano, alto/tenor, and low male. Try matching the setting with the recording of the song. Auto-tuningallows Finn to modulate his voice in a musical way by raising or lowering notes. He gained this ability by swallowing a little computer in an unspecified moment earlier in his life. It was first used in 'The Jiggler,' in which Finn used it to sing 'Baby' to Stanley and a Jiggler. He also used it without singing when he said 'Let's get this party started!' To Jake and when he said. In 1998 the public was introduced to the extreme end of the Auto-Tune effect - Cher's robotic vocal on Believe, which helped make it the biggest-selling UK single of that year.

Disney’s new live-action Beauty and the Beast is one of the hotly anticipated films of the year. And one of the reasons is that it’ll be the first time that actress Emma Watson has had to sing as part of a role.

This week a clip of Emma singing ‘Belle’ was released. We played it to Catherine Bott, a soprano and Classic FM presenter.

“Within two notes it was fairly obvious to me that auto-tune had been deployed,” said Catherine.

“I think Emma Watson’s voice sounds fragile – she’s not a singer – but actually I think it has an innocence to it. And Belle is supposed to be an innocent girl embarking on a great, exciting story.

“I’m really sorry that the studio hasn’t had the courage of their convictions, and has tinkered with Emma Watson’s fragile but pleasant voice. She no longer sounds like Emma Watson.”

“I’m actually quite excited by the possibilities of auto-tune, but not when it’s just used as a cover-up,” said Catherine. “We want to hear Emma Watson sounding like Emma Watson – this doesn’t really match her spoken voice at all. This makes me rather sad.”

“I guess that the studio just isn’t ready to have it less than perfect and it’s how things are now – everything in recording has got to be absolutely clean as a whistle. And I think we’ve lost that feeling of a live performance, when somebody’s just going for it. If there’s a bit of a mistake it doesn’t matter because it’s so exciting.”

Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens, is out in the UK in March.
